August 26, 2009 LAST CHANCE TO SEE US DOWNTOWN - Tomorrow is the last night that Jeri and I will be performing as part of the Downtown Holland Street Performers series. If you haven't made it yet, it is usually jam packed and fun time with lots of different performers up and down 8th street, so you should come by and say hi. We've learned lots of new songs like the theme from Dukes of Hazzard, Jackson by Johnny and June Carter Cash, Livin' on the Edge by Aerosmith (country punk style) and more, so come on down and make a request.
July 28, 2009 NEW EMAIL SERVER - we are going to a new email server and I need you to please click the following link in order to continue receiving email updates from Brother Howe. Of course, if you think now's a good time to make a break, I can respect that and you won't receive any more emails. Here's the link though: LINK Since the last email, we've been practicing as a band again, getting ready for some shows (a private party and a benefit to be announced later). We're also using the practices to get ready to record. Jeri and I have also been playing downtown Holland on various Thursday nights as part of the Downtown Street Performers series. This Thursday night we'll be in front of Firehouse music. We would love to see you there.
June 18, 2009 JERI AND JASON TO PLAY HOLLAND DOWNTOWN STREET PERFORMANCE SERIES - That's right, Jeri and I have been accepted to play on the street Thursday nights 6-8 in downtown Holland as part of their Downtown Performance Series, which features everything from stilt walkers, to magicians, jugglers and musicians. Schedule below: June 11: Former Main Sport June 25: Jb & me July 9: New Holland Brewery/RIT July23: Velo City Cycles July 30: Firehouse Music August 13: Corner of Curragh August 27: Froggy's
May 21, 2009 HEAVEN VIDEO RELEASED - Last November I went around town for two hours with my daughter using her $120 HD video camera and we recorded a video for Heaven Is My Retirement Plan. After much technical difficulties, I finally had our bassist and my brother, Nathan, edit the whole thing using his iMac. Thanks to him it looks great and we are pleased with the results. So check out what can be done with cheap video camera and a couple of hours filming and editing. If you can name at least two locations from the video, I'll email you a song. There's a scene where I'm singing by an old rail car and everything is so still it totally looks like it's a fake background. It's not though (check out my shadow on the ground).
April 14, 2009 HEAVEN RE-MIXED AND MASTERED - Inspired by the recent condition of the economy and the sad state of my 401(k) balance, I've recently written and recorded the song "Heaven Is My Retirement Plan." Well, I recently had it mixed and mastered by Andrew Mitchell of The Audio Bay Recording Studio so it sounds better than ever. Check it out by downloading it using the link to the right! Let us know what you think as well, we'd really appreciate it.
Nov 14, 2008 NEW SINGLE RELEASE - Hi friends, I've been working hard on a new song called "Heaven Is My Retirement Plan." May 17, 2008 BROTHER HOWE TO PLAY NXNE - Brother Howe has been invited to perform/showcase at this year's North by Northeast Music Festival in Toronto! NXNE is a sister festival to Austin's South by Southwest Music Fest and industry event. Three days, 500 bands, 25 movies, 100,000 attendees. Should be a blast!
December 1, 2007 TONIGHT'S BROTHER HOWE SHOW CANCELLED! - Just wanted to let you know, even though it's last minute, that tonights show at the Nunica Bar has been cancelled due to the horrid weather. Maybe it'll be re-scheduled for February, but I'll let you know. Have a great weekend and be safe everybody. Thanks, Jason
October 18, 2007 BROTHER HOWE ON PRIMETIME NETWORK TV! - That's right, I can hardly believe it myself. The Brother Howe song I'm Real Punk will be used in a scene on The Game, a TV show on the CW network, which will air at 9:30pm Monday, October 22nd. How did this happen? Well, I'm lucky enough to have a brother who works as a writer's assistant on that show and he thought the song would work well for a scene and suggested it. Miraculously they agreed. I got the call last night, signed and sent the agreement this morning and Monday night it will be on the air. A little last minute, but a whole lot of fun nonetheless! So check your local listings and turn in to The Game Monday night at 9:30 (channel 17 on Comcast cable in Holland) and listen for I'm Real Punk. I also posted the song on our Myspace site for you to listen to or download. You can download it for free, or if you want to support the band with your finances you can buy it on the store there or on iTunes or whatever your favorite music downloading site is.
August 9, 2007 LIVE EP OFF TO CDBABY.COM - I had really wanted to keep these news items up, but then I got promoted at work and things have been , well, hectic! Anyway, life is going good. I got the Live EP cd's in and mailed them out to cdbaby tonight. Eventually they'll be on iTunes and anytime someone enters Folsom Prison Blues as a search, we will be one of the 50 bands who shows up. On our way to riches and fortune I'm sure. I was actually inspired to write a cd description at lunch so I did that and I think it is pretty good, but then I accidentally erased it. Hopefully I can retrieve it from the recycle bin. It's mostly true too.
June 23, 2007 ARE YOU READY TO ROCK? - Hello there ladies and gentlemen, Are you ready to rock? (Think Cheap Trick, Live at Budakan for that gem of a reference). Brother Howe will be opening the show this Friday night, July 27th at The Break Room for The Law and The Sleeves! It should be totally, like, wicked cool. We're playing a bunch of new songs and our new Live EP will be available for sale too (only $5). It includes Folsom Prison Blues, which I guess was a pretty big song for Johnny Cash. You may have heard it. Anyway, hope to see you there as it's our only show booked this summer.
June 11, 2007 LEARNING TO SCREAM LIKE A PRO & LIVE UPDATE - The artwork for the Live EP is now complete and the order has been placed to press the cd's. Should be in by the end of the month. On to the new album. I cut some more vocal tracks for the punkabilly version of Undone (The Sweater Song), which is sweet. But what I've found is that I can't scream very well. Wimpy. Oh well. I wish I had Eddie Vedder's voice, but I guess I'll have to make do with what the good Lord gave me.
June 7, 2007 FOLSOM PRISON BLUES LICENSE CAME IN - the long awaited mechanical license from "House of Cash, Inc (BMI) Administered by BUG" came in today. Yes! It came the day after I called in and left a voice mail. Coincidence? Hmm. So now I gotta get the artwork to include the legal language in quotes above and we'll get those cd's ordered! I spent some time last night working on rough tracks for a Brother Howe country-punkified version of Weezer's Undone (The Sweater Song). Once that baby hits iTunes we'll be millionaires for sure. My dilemma is, do we include the background vocals in the intro and before the second verse? That's a lot of extra work and I'm thinking we'll keep it simple and not do that.
June 1, 2007 Coming Soon: Brother Howe Live EP. We're basically waiting for the license so we can include Folsom Prison Blues. Once I get that, I'll order the cd's and they'll be available!
May 1, 2007 Brother Howe is currently taking a break from performing to focus on recording a new album. The as-yet-to-be-titled album should be out later this year. In the meantime, watch for the new Live EP coming out soon to help raise money for the new album. Cost will be $5.
June 5, 2007 BH Plans Brother Howe has been on haitus from performing for, well, since last November. It was to regroup, write new songs and focus on recording. I even shelled out a bunch of money on a 16-track digital recorder once I realized how much a recording studio was going to cost. But that break from performing has turned into a break from everything pretty much, and it HAS been nice sitting back, relaxing and watching tv shows and movies without any band guilt. You know, the guilt you feel when you aren't doing anything to further your dreams or goals because you're too lazy and it's just so easy when the giant sucking machine (as Jeri calls it) is on and you're tired out from life and sitting there feels so nice. I haven't been completely lazy however. We recorded a Live EP last February, mixed down six tunes and I have it all ready to go except for one thing. The license for Folsom Prison Blues. The letter is in, but I haven't heard back from them yet. The songs and artwork are even uploaded to discmakers.com. All we need is that stinking license. We're hoping to press a hundred copies for a short run, sell them for five bucks a piece and raise some money to help with the new album. Speaking of which, now it's time to start recording the new Brother Howe album. I've got five songs started. My guitars and vocals are down anyway. Gotta get the rest of the band in to lay down the drums, bass and Jeri's guitar and sweet voice.

September 6, 2006 NEW HOLLAND, JUKE'S & SCOTTY KARATE - Okay Ladies and Gents, It has been awhile since we cranked up the promotion machine because we took the summer off mostly. But now we are back and September is going to rock. And roll. First off, please join us at the New Holland Brewing Co. to celebrate their Autumnfest on Saturday, September 16th. We start at 3pm and will play until about 5:30 or 6. Then we pack up and head north to Grand Haven where we will be playing a private party, Sibfest 2006. If you know about it come on out. Then on September 30th we'll be playing Juke's in Grand Rapids with very special guest Scotty Karate! A one-man band dynamo. We'll be taking the month of October off to begin recording our new album. Come out to our shows as we test drive the new songs live. Thanks for your support - Jason.
June 1, 2006 KALAMAZOO - Tomorrow night, don't miss out all you Kalamazoo folks! We're starting the show at 9:30, but have been told that if a bunch of people are there to watch the Piston's then we'll have to wait until the game is over to start playing. Just another aspect of the slightly degrading life of a traveling musician. When do we get to start telling people to sort the M&M's by color for our catering? Ha! Clock Tower Case will be closing the show, an excellent band from Lansing (check out their link below for sounds, sights, etc.) Have a good weekend y'all and thanks again for your support. You're so kind. Jason
May 23, 2006 FOUR TOWNS, FOUR WEEKENDS - Oh boy, here we go again. The next few weeks are going to be really busy for the Brother Howe clan, but after that Brother Howe will be taking a break so that Jeri and I can focus on other things for the summer. But don't worry, we have exciting plans for the fall, like shiny new songs to unveil and possibly recording another album. In the meantime, we have a small, live ep in the works if I can ever get around to mixing the thing with the guy from the place. SO! If you wanna see us and find out what all the fuss is about, we're hitting four different towns in four weekends. See the schedule at right.
April 17, 2006 GARAGE FEST 2 - There's a few interesting items coming up in the Brother Howe camp. First of all, this Saturday, the 22nd, we'll be playing Garage Fest 2, a fundraiser for the East Hills Council. We're playing for an hour in the afternoon (see schedule below): East Hills Garage Fest Saturday, April 22, Noon-9 PM, NW corner of Diamond & Wealthy A day full of music by your favorite local bands. 12:00 to 1:00 fromLove 1:30 to 2:30 JimmieLee Danger and the Cleverly Hillbillies 3:00 to 4:00 Brother Howe 4:30 to 5:30 Mailboxes and the Blue Machine 6:00 to 7:00 The Icicles 7:30 to 8:30 The Tiger Passion Beer and refreshments available for purchase. Sound by the Reverend Charles Preston Smith Free, All Ages, No Outside Beverages, Bring your ID if you plan to drink The flyer is posted on our website (link at bottom of this email). Speaking of which, I've been revamping the look of the site a little bit. Check it out and let me know what you think. Other than that, I sincerely hope all is going well in your lives. Hope to see you at one of our shows coming up. Thanks, Jason
February 16, 2006 JUKE'S SHOW - Hey folks how's it goin? We'll be playing tomorrow night (or tonight depending on when you read this) at Juke's with Andy's Automatics, a "smooth-groove honky-tonk, rockabilly, and REAL country music" band from the Wisconsin / Chicago area. For fans of Hank, Johnny, Bottle Rockets, The Derailers and all sorts of good stuff. Brother Howe will be opening the show at 9:30 so be sure to get there early for your country punk fix. Thanks, Jason
January 19, 2006 DARK HORSE SHOW - Hey Ladies and Gentlemen, Jeri and I are going out on the road tomorrow night to play at the Dark Horse Brewing Co. in Marshall, MI. If you’re going to be around, stop on out and say hi and enjoy our acoustic set. We’re playing first and scheduled to start around 8:30pm so get there early! Then stick around for the Hummingbirds from Ann Arbor and our favorite brothers from Lansing, the Gentleman Callers. I think I’m gonna love the road with its constantly-on-the-move lifestyle, fast food and cheap motel rooms. But I bet I’ll get sick of it and complain about how hard it is after awhile because the life of a professional traveling musician is not always glamorous like you think. Ok then. Thanks for your support,
December 28, 2005 BROTHER HOWE IN 2006 - Just wanted to send out a quick, little note to you all and let you know that I hope you had a very merry Christmas and that you have a happy and safe New Year coming up this weekend. And thank you very much for your support of Brother Howe and local music. Hope you got all the nice little goodies you were wishing for this Christmas. We had a wonderful little addition to Brother Howe last week as Nathan and Heather had a new baby girl! We have been laying low in honor of her and in waiting for her coming. In the meantime, we have been working on a few new songs for the next time you see us. Jeri and I will be doing a little acoustic show at the Dark Horse Brewery in Marshall, Michigan on January 20th and then Brother Howe will be coming out once again for our triumphant return at Jukes on February 17th. Best wishes and take care, Jason
September 15, 2005 BROTHER HOWE ON MYSPACE.COM - We are a little late joining this bandwagon, but thought it might be time to join. There are four songs there for you to listen to or download. These are demo mixes of three songs we have been planning as releasing as a three song single for two years and just never seem to get around to it. But now for the first time you can download your own personal copy. The link to this site is www.myspace.com/brotherhowe. I'll put a link to it on our website the next time I update it.
September 15, 2005 UPCOMING SHOWS - There are a couple of shows coming up for Brother Howe so get out your Franklin planners and get ready to pencil us in. On Saturday the 24th is an early show (we go on at 5pm), which is a Hurricane Benefit concert (see info in section 4) and on Friday the 30th is a late night blast with Delilah DeWylde & The Lost Boys. I gotta tell you that after seeing these guys again at PotatoePalooza (with matching cowboy outfits I must add) these guys tear it up like few around. They are just better and better each time I see 'em. They will start things off at 10pm and we will take it from there. Hopefully to heights hitherto unseen.
August 17, 2005 BROTHER HOWE RETURNS TO POTATOEPALOOZA! - Brother Howe is returning to the event where they began almost two years ago to the day. On Saturday, August 27, 2005 we will be playing PotatoePalooza X, the same event we played our very first public performance at in August of 2003. This year it is being held at Quinn & Tuite’s (1535 Plainfield NE 49505). This will also be a new beginning for the band as it will be the Brother Howe debut for drummer Ash Snyder. PotatoePalooza is one big party, starting at 4pm and going until 1am. Admission is free to those 21 and over (sorry, no one under 21 allowed). There will be free hot dogs grilling outside, free CD’s and free pony rides! There will be a ton of great bands including the CheezTones, Delilah DeWylde & The Lost Boys, The Sleeves, Ginger Fig, The Underlings and many more. Brother Howe is scheduled to play at 7:30pm so this is also a great chance to see us without having to stay out until the wee hours of the night. Especially for those of you traveling from neighboring cities.
March 16, 2005 JASON HEATH'S LAST SHOW! - Hey all you Kalamazoo-ites! We are coming to the Corner Bar this Friday night and we know you’ll want to be there for this historic event. I’ve got good news and bad news about this show. The good news is that, hey, we’re Brother Howe and we’re coming to Kalamazoo! The bad news is that this will be Jason Heath’s final show with Brother Howe. We will miss him terribly, but he is devoting his time to bigger and better things like finishing up his engineering degree, getting married and preparing his new home. He has told me that after he leaves, we better make sure we only get better and become rock stars. I’ve been playing with Jason for almost five years as he has been with the band since the beginning and even before, playing drums for a previous band we had, helping record and produce Brother Howe’s first album and toiling away with us over the last year and a half, playing the good shows and the bad. He has played an instrumental role in shaping the Brother Howe sound and we wish him the very best. So come on out to see us this Friday in Kalamazoo.
March 2, 2005 First of all, a great big thanks for those of you who came out to the Cash Bash this past Saturday night! We had a great time and raised a bunch of money for the Parkinson's Association of West Michigan. The grand total was $717. Thanks also to those of you who signed up for our newsletter. It was a pleasure meeting you and we hope to see you again at an upcoming show. Secondly, (and speaking of upcoming shows) we have the CABIN FEVER PARTY this Saturday night, March 5th at 442 1/2 Bridge Street in Grand Rapids. We'll be playing with Minni Pearl and The CheezTones. Thirdly, for all our Kalamazoo friends, we will be playing at the Corner Bar on 1030 Vine St. on Friday, March 18th, so mark your calendars and come on down to see us and Younger Dryas, an old-style country band, who incidentally has the most original version of Folsom Prison Blues I've ever heard (besides THE original of course). Lastly, we have some new music up on our website (www.brotherhowe.com). As some of you know, we've been playing a different version of Dear John live than the one on our cd. We have a live version of that for you to download and share with all your friends. Copyright schmoppy-right! Make all the copies you darn well feel like. Also, way back in the archives, we found an old, acoustic version of Beer & Cigarettes, that was recorded two years ago before the bridge was written. Rarities, my friends, that's what it's all about.
February 22, 2005 NEW MP3'S ON MUSIC PAGE - Check out the music page for never before available songs! We've put the new, live version of Dear John up for your downloading pleasure. Also, I ran across an old, acoustic version of Beer & Cigarettes, that was recorded two years ago in order to give to the band to learn. This was recorded before the bridge was written.
February 15, 2005 BROTHER HOWE TO PLAY CASH BASH - On Saturday, February 26th at Eastern Hall in Grand Rapids, we will be taking part in the second annual Cash Bash, a Johnny Cash Birthday Tribute Concert benefitting the Parkinson's Association of West Michigan. Check the tour page for more info.
January 18, 2005 BROTHER HOWE & THE CHEEZTONES - On Saturday, January 29th at Juke's, we will be playing a live show with the one and only CheezTones. The CheezTones start at 9:30, putting on one of the best shows around. And we do okay too!
October 30, 2004 BROTHER HOWE LIVE IN TWO WEEKS - Two weeks from tonight, on Friday, November 12th at Ten Bells, we will be playing a live show with our good friends DangerVille and another band. DangerVille is nothing less than a local legend. We've got a bunch of new songs we've learned to play lately so come on out and see 'em...and us.
October 21, 2004 BROTHER HOWE PICTURES FROM NO COVER TV - We went into the GRTV studios this past Saturday and taped a performance. A few of you came out and we really appreciated it! One of those who did took a bunch of pictures. You can view them by clicking on this LINK. The show will air in Grand Rapids this Friday at 3:30pm and midnight. Other showtimes in other areas are listed at www.nocovertv.net. I will be working on getting it aired on MacTV for those of you in the Holland area.
October 13, 2004 SHOW CANCELLATION - We were planning on playing this Thursday at Ten Bell's. However, due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to bow out of this event. But, we have a taping this Saturday at No Cover TV in Grand Rapids, which will air sometime on public access stations all around West Michigan. We are allowed to bring in up to 10 people as our "audience". If you would like to come out and support us and be on tv, just send us an email. It's near Radio Tavern on Bridge St in Grand Rapids and taping is scheduled to go from 4 to 8 this Saturday, October 16th.
October 7, 2004 BROTHER HOWE ROCK 'N ROLL SHOW - on Saturday, October 23rd we have an extra special Holland show at the Fire House Grille & Pub with our good friends Dangerville, psychobilly band extraordinaire! We call it The Brother Howe Rock 'N Roll Show.
September 27, 2004 We had a great time at the Radio Tavern a couple weeks ago. We basically played our best show EVER! Thanks to those of you who came out to witness that event. As you may or may not know, that night was sponsored by No Cover TV, a public access television show that showcases local bands. They had a vote and Brother Howe got the most votes to be the next band featured on the show (very slim margin)! We will be taping our show on October 16th so thanks again for those of you who voted for us.
August 29, 2004 BROTHER HOWE'S full-length CD, Rock 'N Roll Country, is now available at Vertigo Music and Aris' Disc Shop in Grand Rapids and at the Full Circle in Holland. It's only $5. They are also finishing the recording of a new three-song single, titled "Kiss My Grits."
August 4, 2004 ROCK 'N ROLL COUNTRY NOW ON APPLE'S iTUNES - That’s right! Our CD, Rock ‘N Roll Country, is now available for digital download on Apple’s iTunes. So you can download each song file for $0.99 each or download the entire album for $9.99.
July 15, 2004 BROTHER HOWE AT HEARTSIDE PARK...AGAIN! - It'll be a special performance on August 7th at the Heartside Park, with just Jeri and I playing an acoustic set. Come out to hear the sweet sound of our voices blended together in perfect harmony.
July 1, 2004 BROTHER HOWE AT HEARTSIDE PARK - We are going to be playing outdoors at the Ionia Street Artist Market at 3 o’clock on the afternoon of Saturday, July 10th. So even if you have plans in the evening, like being chauffered around town in a limo all night or something, you can still make it and it will be loads of fun. Also playing is Nobody’s Darlin’ (bluegrass featuring Delilah DeWylde from Dangerville) and The Draggin’ Anchors. It is at the new Heartside Park, which is on Cherry Street at Ionia Avenue SW in Grand Rapids. So come on down and support the local arts scene. Hope to catch you all there!
June 10, 2004 BROTHER HOWE RIDES AGAIN - Hey all, it's been a long time coming, but we are playing again on Saturday, June 19th at the Holiday Bar in Grand Rapids! We'll be playing with Delilah DeWylde & Lost Boys (members of Dangerville), John Sanger & Co. and headlining will be the Potato Babies. 21+ to enter and no cover! Also grillin' outside from 8pm to midnight. See the tour page for street address and stuff. Starts at 9:00pm
April 21, 2004 We had a great time at the Saugatuck/Douglas Youth Center Benefit Concert this past weekend! Money was raised for a good cause and SmooDy and the Smut Puppies rocked it hard. Come see us at Java Joe's this Saturday with a bunch of other folk/rock/country acts and then next Thursday the 29th at the Temple Club in Lansing. See the tour page for dates and times.
March 3, 2004 Everyone keeps asking when we're playing again and I must confess I've been a little lazy lately with the emails. But we do have a couple of dates coming up! The first is at Jumpin' Java in Grand Haven. This will be a special night since we are the only band playing. We will be playing everything we know on this night! We are working on an extended version of Dear John and a really rocking version of Hank William's I Saw The Light. We'll also be playing at Java Joe's in Holland again at the end of the month. See the tour page for dates and times. A free song has been added to our website, available for download. The song is I Have A Dream from our full length cd "Rock 'N Roll Country".
February 5, 2004 1. We are going to be taking part in The World Series of Rock 'N Roll at Club Soda in Kalamazoo! We will be playing this Monday night, Febrary 9th, at 10:00. We get to play three songs. If you are in Kalamazoo (as some of you are on this list), please come! If we make it through the first round, we'll play again later on. Cover is $5. If you come, we will give you credit for one free, three song Brother Howe "Kiss My Grits" single, which will be coming out soon. That's worth $3 folks! It'll have three songs on it. In fact, I'm taking the day off Friday to finish up the guitar and lead vocal tracks. 2. We are playing at Java Joe's this Friday, February 6th. Show starts at 8:30 with Smoody, winner of the High School Band Competition of 2003. They should be good! We play next and then headlining is Liquid Sphere. We have been working on some new songs and will be debuting Round & Round, the first song on our cd, but one we haven't played live before. We will also play Hotel Yorba by the White Stripes again since everyone LOVES it! We're working on some Hank Williams songs that we hope to bring to your ears soon at a live venue near you.
January 26, 2004 We are recording a new three-song single which should be out sometime within the next five years! The drum tracks and bass tracks have been completed for all three tracks, acoustic guitar for one track and we'll see if the electric guitar I've done so far will make it to the final cut.
January 23, 2004 Read the Brother Howe feature that was in the Weekend section of the Grand Rapids Press on January 15th! It's a great article. Click here for the scanned image.
January 12, 2004 Brother Howe will be featured in the weekend section of the Grand Rapids Press on January 15th. Also, you can check them out with The Dials and The Cheeztones at the Radio Tavern in Grand Rapids on Friday, January 16th.
December 22, 2003 I am excited to announce that Brother Howe will be playing a benefit concert on Monday, December 29th at Java Joe's in Holland. This is a concert to raise money so that a young lady named Amber Slocum can go to Australia as a short term missionary. The cost is only $5, so please come out to support a great cause. To show their support, Java Joe's will be giving discounts on drinks! Also, Brother Howe has t-shirts! They are really cool, if I say so myself, but I like black t-shirts. These will be available for the first time at this show for $10. Click here for all live shows.
November 19, 2003 Brother Howe just got a last minute opportunity to play at Java Joe's this Saturday night. It's an all ages show. Admission is $3. The show starts around 8:30 or 9:00 and we play third. Please come if you can! Click here for all live shows.

It should be finished within a month. You can check them out at Java Joe's in Holland on November 1st for an all-ages show. Click here for all live shows.
October 20, 2003 New show announced: Friday, November 14th at lemonjello's coffee house in Holland, MI. This will be a very intimate show since the place is small. It's on the corner of 9th and College. Click here for all live shows.

They all start around 9:00: Oct. 24th with surf-rock instrumentalists, Los Cobras - Radio Tavern, Grand Rapids ($4 for those over 21, $6 for 18-20 year olds, Ladies are free!) The links to the above places are on the TOUR page. You can find directions there. Also, you can buy our CD online now! It is still a better deal though (for you and us) if you buy a cd at a show.
September 10, 2003 Hello everyone! PotatoePalooza V went extremely well for us. We've posted pictures of the gig. The crowd response was more than we hoped for or imagined it could be. The publisher of a local magazine said he wants to do a write-up on us, which would be very cool. Also, some more gigs are starting to come about because of it. I'll let you know when those are confirmed for sure. Brotherhowe.com is also up and running! Just type in www.brotherhowe.com and you can check it out. Oh! You are already here. Thanks and talk to you later. Jason Howe
August 25, 2003 Just a little reminder: Brother Howe is playing their very first gig this Saturday! Below is a brief description of the show: "PotatoePalooza V" happens at The Holiday Bar on Saturday, August 30th with lots of bands performing. It's a 21 and up event that lasts from 2:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., with free admission, free hot dogs, and free door prizes. The Holiday Bar is located at 801 5th Street NW (Stocking & 5th at Walker Avenue), Grand Rapids, MI. The lineup includes: Dangerville, The Sleeves, Dsyfer, The Ride, The Cheeztones, Fred Thompson Trio, The Marones, Grounder, Brother Howe, The Icicles, and more. Should be a great time if you can make it. For more details, visit www.potatoebabies.com. We are scheduled to play from 7:30 to 8:10, but that may vary depending on how closely the schedule is kept. Please come if you can!
August 4, 2003 Hello all, It has been awhile since I last gave you an update, but things HAVE been happening. First of all, they stopped having open mic night at the New Holland Brewery, so I haven't been playing there. But now Brother Howe is an official band. Joining me on acoustic guitar is my wife Jeri Howe; on bass guitar my brother Nathan Howe; and on drums, honorary Howe, Jason Heath. We've been practicing in my basement and things are starting to gel nicely. In fact, we have our first gig on Saturday, August 30th, playing for Potatoepalooza V, a Lollapalooza-type show that lasts most of the day. We have the 7th slot, playing after a surf-instrumental band and before a solo act. There are 10 or 15 bands playing. As of right now, it is a 21 and over only show.
Nov 14, 2008 NEW SINGLE RELEASE - Hi friends, I've been working hard on a new song called "Heaven Is My Retirement Plan." I'd also love to hear how you like it and want you to feel free to share it with your friends. Thanks a lot! Live EP Now Available!Order your copy by clicking the button below

May 17, 2008 BROTHER HOWE TO PLAY NXNE - Brother Howe has been invited to perform/showcase at this year's North by Northeast Music Festival in Toronto!

Jason Howe
