I went with some friends to see a Weezer concert a couple years ago when they were touring with the Foo Fighters. It was a great show (how could it not be?). Anyway, there was a point in the concert when they brought a random teenager out of the crowd to play a song with them. They handed him an acoustic guitar and showed him what chords to strum and got him playing as the rest of the band went into Undone (The Sweater Song). Even though we were in the second tier of seats I could see that all he was playing was G, C and D. ”Hey” I thought, “I bet we could do a country punk version of that!”
And so, today I sit at my control station ready to unleash upon the world our version of Undone (The Sweater Song) by Weezer. Here it is ladies and gentlemen, please download, listen, enjoy and let us know what you think by posting comments here on our blog.

The short answer is “yes I did!” The longer answer is that it took quite a few tries and I edited the most successful takes together into one solo. The interesting thing is that I read recently that this is how a lot of the professionals do it, too. It was an interview about a guy who recorded Brian Setzer for his latest album. He was amazed because Brian Setzer would record one solo, then try another one and it would be completely different, yet still great. But Setzer would not resort to splicing the best parts of each solo into one like most guys do. His motto was to “play it like a man” and get it right the whole way through. Elvis would only accept one take on his vocals too.
